Berg stainless steel aircraft cable complies with military specification and is available with a nylon jacket or unjacketed, with typical 7x19 construction.
Aramid fiber gets its name from aromatic polyamide, a type of high-performance synthetic fiber (Kevlar® is one example). Berg’s fiber cable is a continuous stranded fiber filament using a new aramid fiber. The combined multiple strands operate as one single working member, can flex around much smaller pulley diameters than conventional steel cable and have a longer service life. The fine, flexible strands are impregnated with a proprietary coating that provides excellent self-abrasion resistance and keeps all the filament strands together so when the cable is cut it does not open and unwind.
WM Berg offers stainless steel aircraft cable and aramid fiber cable in a wide range of diameters and lengths beyond the options found in the filters below. These cables are also used as spines for our polyurethane timing belts and chains.
